About Dr. Stephanie Berube
Acupuncturist in Massapequa, Long Island, NY
Hi, I’m Dr. Stephanie Berube
I'm a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and Doctor of Acupuncture with a specialization in herbal medicine.
Since 2017, I have been helping people feel better using personalized, natural care rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a strong dose of curiosity, heart, and humor.
My path to this work wasn’t exactly a straight line. I was a three-sport athlete growing up — soccer, basketball, and lacrosse — and eventually played at Herkimer College before earning a lacrosse scholarship to Mercyhurst.
But something didn’t feel right. I left before graduating, unsure of what I really wanted to do with my life. I bounced through a handful of majors — English, sign language, editing — trying to figure out where I belonged.
My journey
My journey
Eventually, I found myself working in corporate America, sitting in a cubicle, counting down the hours of my day — and I knew, deep in my gut, that I couldn’t do it forever. Friends and coworkers were always asking me for health advice, home remedies, or wellness tips, and I realized I had a genuine passion for helping people feel better. That led me back to school for nutrition at CUNY Hunter, which I enjoyed… but it still didn’t feel like the full picture. I wanted more than calorie counts and textbooks. I wanted a holistic view of health — something that addressed mind, body, and spirit.
Years later, I’m still doing this work and loving it more than ever. Just last year, I completed my doctorate in acupuncture with a specialization in herbal medicine. I’m a lifelong learner and obsessed with research — not for the sake of facts, but to bring fresh, effective, and thoughtful solutions to the people I care for. I believe healing should be personal, collaborative, and grounded in real life — not just protocols and symptom charts. My treatment plans are rooted in the wisdom of Chinese medicine, food therapy, and the belief that everybody tells a story worth listening to.
Outside of the clinic, I’m a mom to two incredible kids — Crosby (8) and Arya (5) — who keep me both young and exhausted in equal measure. My weekends revolve around sports practices, snack negotiations, and refereeing sibling squabbles. I’m a homebody who finds joy in simple things: reading in the backyard, playing with our dog Max, or making healing soups and herbal tinctures (and yes, finding sneaky ways to get my kids to take them).
I do this work because I love it. I care deeply about helping people feel seen, supported, and better in their bodies. Whether you’re navigating pain, digestion, fertility, stress, or just trying to feel more like yourself again — I’m here for it. Healing is my passion. Humor and heart are my superpowers. And I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
